Dear May

by Richard Overy

Postcard bought at a Car Boot Sale between Telford & Worfield. Franked February 23rd 1906.

The card was addressed to G Crombie Esq, 1 Paget Road, Wolverhampton and reads:

Dear May, Will was finally selected by the Committee and recommended to the Council. So that means that he is practically Chief Assistant Enf? to the largest urban District in the Kingdom. They told him he would be set up with a Motor car so there may be a chance of a ride from affection Father

The card has a further note near the top which reads:

Of course approval has to be given by the Council so shall know for certain to day .

The image doesn’t really fit with the message on the card.
