Wouldham 1932 River Medway
by Richovery
Postcard bought from an Antiques Fair held at Oswestry Showground, showing a group of military characters having a meal upon their boat.
The message on the reverse reads Wouldham 1932 River Medway.
The details in this photo are great such as the chap smiling whilst having a cigarette at the back.
I have two more cards which show some of these men on other adventures which I will share with you soon….
I wonder where they were going. They seem to be having a good time.
I wondered that too but they do look like they were having fun.
Great pic. Great faces. Interesting and unusual vantage point for a photo. Looking forward to seeing the other ones.
Thanks Katherine, it’s my one and only picture taken on a boat!

There was a Royal engineers Camp at Wouldham which doubled as a prisoner of war camp ww2. The R.E’s trained at building various bridges there on the Medway.
Hello Merv, thank you for the information on the Royal Engineers Camp. It’s great to receive a background to the image. Regards Richard
